PoliMI will lead the miniaturization of the high efficient single photon detectors. It will be possible thank to a high knowledge and know-how in the electronics components surrounding the single photon detectors. Their presence will be fundamental for the entire structure of the network. Electronic devices will be present in transmitters and silicon receivers too, so that the big research developed during the last years by PoliMI will help the entire consortium.
